Button-Front Detail- My Fav Summer Trend!

Dresses and tops and skirts.. oh my! I have been all about all things button-front this season! Whether it be a dress with the button detail going all the way down the front or a cami that doesn't even have functioning buttons, I'm ALL ABOUT it! The best part about this trend is that it can be worn to work as well! A lot of the dresses out this season are midi-length, meaning that they are MORE than appropriate to wear to work! Pop on a cute cardigan- my fav is from J Crew Factory- and go to work!

Let me show you some of my favs:

1. The button-front tea-dress:

The best part about these kinds of dresses is that they are super forgiving. If you are going out for a fun day or even a huge Mexican meal of tacos and margaritas- you don't want to have to worry constantly about how you're standing or about a food baby showing :)! These dresses are baggy in nature! I have a ton of them because they are just so easy to wear! The orange one is from Adeline Clothing, while the white is from Shein.

You can find some dresses that are shorter and some that are longer, so whichever style you feel more comfortable rocking, go for it!

When I wear this kind of dress, I always like to wear it with some sort of heel or espadrille, just to give my leg some length. They can also be worn as a swimsuit coverup, so if you find one and it is way too short for your liking, try wearing it over a swimmie or with a pair of skinny jeans under it! You can make a very short dress into a tunic with no difficulty at all! You've just got to be creative in your styling!

Have questions?? ALWAYS feel free to ask!

2. The button-front cami:

This cami is one that can be worn on the weekends with a pair of shorts, or worn with dress pants and a cardigan for work. The versatility of them is amazing! This first cami is from Shein and the buttons are just for decoration- they don't open or close.

Just like the dresses above, these camis are made to have some room, so they are not tight-fitting to the body. They are so comfortable! Throw on a good strapless bra and you've got yourself an outfit!

This all white one is Entro brand from Adeline Clothing and the buttons DO work. You could always undo the bottom few buttons and tie the bottom of the shirt for a completely different look.

Of course, I have both of mine style for summer, but like I said, you could throw on a pair of navy work slacks and a colored cardi and be as cute as can be. :) Add a skinny belt and you'd be totally stylish!

3. The sleeved, peplum top:

I am quite literally obsessed with this kind of top. I have it in about a million colors and patterns because it is so flattering. I linked them all above from the Shein site! They have some room around the tummy, but the arm ruffle details are one of my favorite parts of them!

While this gingham is clearly screaming SUMMER, I have some other options that are more muted- white, green, etc. I plan to wear these to work with a pair of work slacks (my fav are from express!) and a cute pair of sandals or flats! Who said that we have to have a summer wardrobe and a work wardrobe?? Buy pieces that you can mix and match!

This second striped blue and white top has more of a tulip sleeve, but it is just as cute! Again, you can see that it is almost over-sized, so it is forgiving and flattering!

Both of these tops have functioning buttons and come with extra buttons in case you might lose one. The best part?? They are all under $15!
