It can be really tough to figure out how to be stylish AND comfortable when preparing for the classroom. I never want to feel like I'm in stuffy, uncomfortable clothes, but I also don't want to look terrible! Here are some ideas and links for the pieces!
Fun Printed Dress!
Sometimes a fun print will get you everywhere! A dress is one of the easiest ways to look put together with very minimal work!
I always like to find wedges or platform shoes to give the appearance of a heel without being uncomfortable. These beige platforms are some of the most comfortable that I have found and are also super affordable. They come in black, brown, and yellow too if you want a different look!
Also, DON'T FORGET YOUR SLIP! It makes any skirt or dress fall nicely and you don't have to worry about anyone looking up your dress! I wear slip shorts- I have them linked here!
I am SUCH A FAN of a midi dress! I never have to worry about the skirt being too short.
Since it is so hot here in Louisiana, I tend to stick with lightweight dresses and ponytails! :) I could always add a sweater over any dress to give it a whole new look. Want to get everything ready for the winter?? Add a bootie instead and you're good to go!
If you're looking at my lanyard and are thinking, "Wow, I love it!" then here it is!
I get SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on it! If only I could have a new one for every day of the week!
Midi Skirt
Absolutely NOTHING is more comfortable to me than a midi length dress or skirt, so I have SO MANY OF THEM in my closet.
My favorite part of wearing a midi skirt is that it is so versatile! You can add a tank and wear it over the weekend, a sweater and wear it over the winter, a crop and wear it after work. I also love how HIGH-WAISTED they are! I will NEVER go back to low-waisted anything!
If you can find a good denim jacket, that sucker will become your best friend! It matches with just about everything and is a work-appropriate way to cover up! Mine is from H&M- I love all of their denim because the sizing is so precise that you can go boxy or tight-fitting- whatever floats your boat!
Don't want to mess with a denim jacket?? A cardigan seems to be a teacher's staple item. These from JCrew Factory are my absolute favorite and I have them in just about every single color that they come in.
Since these skirts can be worn so high-waisted, I can wear cropped knit tops with them and they still tuck in.
A fun print is everything I need in my life! It adds an element of whimsy to any outfit and you can always mix-and-match colors with any of them.
