Invest in Yourself: Ultimate Relaxation

Investing in yourself is oftentimes hard to do. This is the first in a series of "invest in yourself" blogs that will be focused on helping women invest in themselves to become the best they can be. I'm sharing some of my favorite investments in hopes that it'll help you too.
As a teacher and a mom, there is not much relaxation in my life. There are times when I attempt to relax on my couch, but I am never really able to clear my mind completely. Even when I'm trying to go to sleep, my mind is moving a mile a minute. I'm constantly thinking about everything that I need to do and where I need to be and how I'm going to get there.
I didn't think I'd achieve real relaxation, but I also never wanted to invest in it. Would that be selfish of me to spend the money on something that was all about me?? I thought so for a long time, then I realized how I really can't be my best self unless I'm taking care of myself, both mentally and physically.
I decided to get a facial massage at Skin Rituals BR and OMG, I am forever converted.
What I got was called a Bellanina Facelift Massage. The week or two following my facial, my face still looked AMAZING. I was glowing, my makeup looked its absolute best, and my skin looked really hydrated. It's called a facelift massage for a reason! But my skin isn't the only reason I'll go back for another.
Let me tell you- I am NOT usually a massage kind of girl. I don't typically like people touching me and I never really get that relaxed, but not only was the facial good for my skin, I finally achieved 100% relaxation. It was quiet. The scents used were so relaxing. She moved so quietly that I was never sure what was going to happen next, but in the best way possible.

The whole process started with a warm foot bath with salts and a comfy neck pillow. I got a glass of lemon-infused water and was just able to start the relaxation process. VERY rarely is anything about me, but this was. Everything was about my comfort and relaxation and it was such a wonderful departure from my everyday life. Sarah was so kind and attentive and wanted me to have the best experience possible. It is rare to find someone who is so concerned with customer service, so I was happy to find this in her!
When the facial massage started, I thought I died and went to heaven. Everything was just so soothing, calm, and quiet. If you like getting your hair washed at the hairdresser, you'll absolutely love a good facial. This particular facial massage experience also focused on the hands and feet, so she spent time not only on my face, head, neck, shoulders, but also on my hands and feet. It was a full hour of pampering and was exactly what I needed at that time to get my stress level under control.
I know for me, I never wanted to pay for something that seemed so frivolous as a facial since it was a want and not a need, but after deciding to do this for myself, I am really happy that I did. It is finally a time to do something for YOU that doesn't have anything to do with your children or your husband or your job. Just for you :)
